A balanced approach: How varying exercise intensity influences weight loss

Most folks see exercise as a way to stay healthy and – no surprise – to lose weight. But with the goal of losing weight in mind, the question becomes whether one should focus on high intensity workouts or low intensity workouts?

How to Burn More Fat


Again, as Dr. Juris notes, standard cardio equipment can handle both high and low intensity workouts. Focus on low intensity for fat-burn. Focus on high intensity for cardio. Mix up your workouts with strength training to build muscle. Increasing muscle is key to increasing calorie burn. Most importantly though is to focus on the negative calorie burn. It's no surprise that if you want to lose weight, calories in must be less than calories out.
