Not all cardio workouts are created the same. A top research team at the University of Wisconsin - Lacrosse, one of the world's most respected centers of fitness research, recently investigated which type of non-impact cardio trainer provides the most effective cardio workout. The researchers asked individuals to work out at the same rate of perceived effort on a Cybex Arc Trainer, a Precor Adaptive Motion Trainer and a Precor Elliptical Trainer.

16% more calories burned

Although test subjects thought they were working out just as hard on all three machines, the study showed that they burned 16% more calories on the Cybex Arc Trainer than the other cross trainers. That output equates to burning an extra 26,000 calories a year.
