Progress Gym in Yeovil, Somerset, will host a series of seminars run by premium fitness equipment manufacturer Cybex, following the success of the gym’s inaugural event in July.
Aimed at health, fitness and wellbeing professionals, the Cybex Seminar Programme covers a selection of the industry’s key trends and topical issues and last month, Progress Gym welcomed more than 20 attendees – including staff from the gym – for a day-long seminar aimed at helping gym instructors and PTs increase their exercise physiology knowledge and practical application into clients’ programming.
Through a combination of practical and theory study, the seminars are designed to equip attendees with the knowledge, understanding and experience to apply the findings in their day-to-day roles. The programme has been developed by the Cybex Research Institute (CRI), the research arm of Cybex and the body responsible for product development, exercise research and education to support gym operators and fitness professionals worldwide.
The programme is also accredited by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and attendees will be awarded four CPD Points by Life Fitness, an Endorsed Training Provider, for every seminar completed.
Progress Gym will be hosting its next Cybex-run seminar, using biomechanical analysis to achieve greater strength gains, on Thursday 21 September.
The seminars are led by Cybex Master Trainer, Julia Dalgleish. With more than 20 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Julia gained a joint honours degree in Physiology and Psychology before moving into personal training, teaching and tutoring. Specialising in the application of biomechanics, human physiology and psychology, Julia has presented and taught at facilities and events throughout the UK and Europe.
Commenting on the feedback received by attendees at the last seminar, Rob Harris, owner of Progress Gym, said: “Julia was a big hit with my team! They really enjoyed her style of presenting and found the information valuable and accessible. Finding experienced educators who have retained the energy to enthuse others is a challenge and she is a real asset to the Cybex Seminar Programme.”
