Cambridge-based Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre will soon be adding to its existing range of CYBEX equipment with 13 IFI accredited pieces from the VR3 strength line and the award-winning Bravo functional trainer.

As a CYBEX customer since 2008, Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre already has a range of CYBEX cardiovascular equipment including 750T treadmills and 750AT total body Arc Trainers, alongside strength training equipment including benches, chest and leg press machines, plate loaded equipment plus products from CYBEX’s VR1 series.

The new install will see a range of IFI equipment from CYBEX’s Total Access range made available to gym members; Working in partnership with the Inclusive Fitness Initiative, CYBEX has developed its Total Access line to provide users with commercial-quality fitness equipment designed to be accessible to the physically impaired but without excluding other exercisers.

Fitness enthusiasts with physical or sensory limitations can therefore take advantage of fitness training on the same gym floor and using the same equipment as those who do not.

“The decision to invest in inclusive fitness equipment is part of our long-term vision to deliver a facility that is accessible to everyone, without any exceptions,” confirmed Mustafa Ustamehmetoglu, gym manager at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre.

“It is an important step forward for the Centre and we are proud to be the only gym in central Cambridge that offers such equipment.”

Tony Vaughan, CYBEX regional sales manager, said: “Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre appeals to users of all ages, fitness levels and training abilities.

“By incorporating equipment from our Total Access range, the site ensures that it can support the training needs of everyone and as a site that is very much concerned about engaging with its members and the local community, by broadening its range of CYBEX equipment it will have a positive impact for both potential and existing members.”

The Bravo functional trainer will also be a popular addition to the fitness suite at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre; combining the best in selectorised and cable-based strength training, the CYBEX Bravo offers users hundreds of movements in one single space-efficient machine. In recognition of its unique design and enhanced features, the Bravo was awarded the prestigious FIBO Innovation Award 2012.

Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre offers members two gyms – the Outlooks Gym comprising of cardio and resistance equipment and the Free Weights Gym, which includes over 30 pieces of CYBEX strength equipment. Members can opt for separate or joint memberships for the two gyms.

The site also offers a range of fitness classes and a sports hall, available for private hire.
