CYBEX installs at home gym of England’s number one, Joe Hart
CYBEX UK has completed an install at the home gym of footballer Joe Hart, goalkeeper for England and Manchester City.
As first choice goalkeeper for both club and country, Joe Hart currently holds the Premier League title with Manchester City and has been hailed ‘the world’s best goalkeeper’ by England teammate Wayne Rooney.
His brand new home facility includes both a treadmill and upright cycle from the 770 series, CYBEX’s ‘best in class’ cardiovascular range that was launched in autumn 2012. Also installed was an 8’ Big Iron power rack complete with lifting bar and plates, one of CYBEX’s most popular pieces of strength equipment and already a favourite with many professional teams and athletes worldwide.
Built to withstand the toughest of workouts, CYBEX’s Big Iron includes thirteen racking positions with laser engraved position indicators, bar catches, adjustable bar stops and swing-away spotter platforms to provide users with a safe, strong and durable strength training option.
Both the treadmill and cycle, alongside the Big Iron, were custom made with white frames and black upholstery; a bespoke option chosen by Joe Hart and provided by CYBEX on all orders as a result of CYBEX’s build to order policy.
Also installed was an adjustable bench, dumbbells with rack, specialised free weight flooring and a rowing machine.
Alan Ellis, national key account manager for CYBEX UK was responsible for the design of the new home gym facility. Commenting on Joe Hart’s decision to choose CYBEX, he said: “As a professional athlete who is at the top of his game, it is essential that Joe Hart maintains his high levels of strength and conditioning that are so crucial to his success, whether that’s using his club’s facilities at Carrington Training Centre or, now, his home gym.
“The equipment installed will provide Joe with a home workout programme to complement his training regime and to have a sportsman of Joe Hart’s status choose CYBEX demonstrates the quality and excellence of our equipment.”
Having made his senior debut a day after his seventeenth birthday for local side Shrewsbury Town, Joe Hart signed for Manchester City in 2006, before enjoying loan spells at Tranmere, Blackpool and Birmingham City. Now the first choice goalkeeper for Manchester City, Joe Hart was awarded the Barclays Golden Glove award for the most number of clean sheets for two seasons running, including the 2011/12 season when Manchester City won its first top flight title in 44 years.
Also the first choice goalkeeper for England’s senior team, Joe Hart currently has 28 caps for his country and was included in the 2010 World Cup squad, before travelling to Euro 2012 where he played every minute of England’s tournament campaign.
