The official launch of Market Harborough’s new Snap Fitness gym took place on Saturday 24th August, in celebration of what has been a busy few weeks for the facility since it opened in July.

The launch, which was attended by representatives from local press and trade media, existing and prospective gym members and stakeholders, was opened by club manager Daniel Smith who thanked guests for their hard work and support in opening the Market Harborough facility.

“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic first few weeks at Snap Fitness Market Harborough, already exceeding our membership target,” confirmed Daniel.

“Today’s launch is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our members, local businesses, suppliers and press who have provided us with invaluable support over the past few months and we look forward to being a part of the Market Harborough community for many years to come.”

Cybex September News Snap3Speaking at the launch, VIP guest, local rugby legend and Snap Fitness member Martin Corry said: “Snap Fitness is exactly what Market Harborough and the surrounding area needs; a gym with fantastic facilities, state-of-the-art equipment and reasonably priced membership.”

“As someone who has spent years competing in professional sport, I know only too well the benefits of having such a great facility on your doorstep. Whatever your fitness levels or goals may be, having 24/7 access to a gym of this quality is a fantastic opportunity and something that the local community should be proud of.”

In a professional career that spanned 14 years, Corry made 279 appearances for Leicester Tigers, captaining not only the local union side but also England and British & Irish Lions. Winner of the Rugby World Cup in 2003, he also secured five Premiership titles and two Heineken Cups during his time at Welford Road.

Following the ‘cutting of the ribbon’, guests were invited to take part in a ‘master class’ training workshop ran by CYBEX.

The Market Harborough gym is the third Snap Fitness in the UK and the first in the Midlands and joins an international franchise network of almost 1400 state-of-the-art fitness clubs worldwide, which offer 24/7 access to its members at affordable prices and without any contract with the gym.

The new gym houses a comprehensive range of premium cardiovascular and strength equipment from CYBEX, complete with bespoke frames and upholstery.

A group fitness studio is also on-site and houses Fitness on Demand, an innovation in group fitness that allows users to participate in an extensive variety of classes and workout programmes at a time to suit them.
