Nuffield Health’s Club Baltimore Fitness and Wellbeing Centre has re-opened following an extensive gym renovation, with equipment from premium manufacturer Cybex and parent brand Life Fitness installed at the central London facility.
Located in the heart of Canary Wharf, the gym first opened in 2012 as part of Baltimore Tower, a prestigious 45-storey residential development. The recent opening of a new residential block subsequently led to the extension of the gym, which now includes an additional 1020m² of gym floor space and three studios, including an indoor cycling studio equipped with ICG® IC6 bikes and Myride® technology.
In response to member feedback, an extended strength training area was central to the gym renovation; this included new plate loaded equipment, racks and lifting platforms from Cybex’s Big Iron range and a Jungle Gym, Cybex’s multi-station strength training solution.
Also installed was a SYNRGY360™ system, Life Fitness’ modular solution designed to support dynamic small group and one-on-one training, as well as individual exercisers.
This latest install is part of the longstanding partnership between the healthcare and wellbeing provider and Cybex, whose portfolio of Nuffield Health gyms extends across both consumer and corporate sectors.
Emma Clifford, Nuffield Health Programme Director, said: “At Club Baltimore we cater for residential, corporate and consumer markets, so it’s vital that our equipment provision not only supports our growing membership but also reflects our diverse demographic.
“Cybex were heavily involved in the original gym design and have continued to play an important part in the renovation. The team’s knowledge and attention to detail has ensured that we’re maximising our new larger space and providing a solution that not only caters to our members’ training needs, but also considers their overall gym experience.
“Feedback has been very positive and the new equipment is a fantastic addition to the gym; the SYNRGY360™ rig in particular has been a welcome addition to our group training provision and is a great way for our fitness team to engage with our members.”
Luke Berry, key account manager at Life Fitness, added: “Club Baltimore is a unique facility and a project that we’ve really enjoyed being a part of. The gym epitomises Nuffield Health’s core values as one of the UK’s leading healthcare, fitness and wellbeing providers and our longstanding partnership is something that we are very proud of.”
